Willdan understand the workload, deadlines, and budgetary challenges your city/agency faces day to day.  Through our city engineering and staff support contracts, we serve as an extension of your staff to provide a broad spectrum of municipal and specialty expertise—guiding you through each step, from funding administration and planning to design and construction.  Our team serves as city and county engineers and manages Capital Improvement Programs (CIP), from inception to completion, and conducts development reviews.  We bring expertise in the Storm Water and National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) and can guide you through permitting, monitoring, and reporting.  Willdan specializes in securing local, state, county, and federal funds.

City Engineering for Paramount

City of Paramount, CA

Willdan has provided general engineering services to the City of Paramount since 1973, nearly a half-century. Based on the ongoing needs of the City, Willdan has served as the City Engineer and provided staff augmentation, plan checking, engineering design, grant administration, water engineering, right-of-way engineering, traffic engineering, development review, capital improvement projects, utility coordination, construction management and inspections, and other as-needed engineering services. Typical projects for the City of Paramount range from slurry seal to arterial street rehabilitation and overlay with a total program budget for design and construction ranging between $800,000 and $1.6 million. A pavement management system update is performed on a three-year cycle, followed by a corresponding capital improvements program update and implementation of street projects from design though construction.

City Engineering for Westlake Village

City of Westlake Village, CA

Willdan has partnered with Westlake Village to contract staffing and general engineering services for the City since 1983, only two years after its incorporation.  As the City grew, Willdan has extended services to provide fulltime on-site staff that includes a City Engineer, Project Manager, and Public Works Inspector.  On-call staff include a Deputy City Engineer, Stormwater Program Manager, Project Managers, Construction Managers, and Capital Project Inspectors.

Willdan manages the day-to-day and year-to-year needs of the City, including grant funding acquisition and administration; development processing and review; expedited building plan review and capital project inspection; encroachment permitting and inspection; capital improvement program budgeting and execution, including annual updates, project management, construction management, and post-project support.  Willdan also provides operational services such as a full stormwater program/NPDES support and inspection, lighting and landscape assessment district management and administration, and represents the City on regional platforms like the Measure M Policy Advisory Committee and Measure W Steering Committee.
