Willdan team members provide hands-on support to local initiatives that improve our communities.
- Holiday Bike Giveaway with the Fred Jordan Mission: In 2021, Willdan purchased over
400 bikes, and our staff, family, and friends worked as a team to build them. The bikes were then
donated to the Fred Jordan Mission who distributed them to Los Angeles and Indio families in need for
the holidays. Our offices across the country also participated by buying and shipping helmets for the
event.
- The Watts Labor Community Action Committee: Willdan has partnered with The Watts
Labor Community Action Committee in collaboration with STEM 54 to hold volunteer events throughout Los
Angeles.
- Tree Planting in Los Angeles: Willdan has partnered with City Plants since 2018.
Our staff, friends, and family attend regular tree-planting events throughout greater Los Angeles,
including:
- Planting in the Arts District of Los Angeles, 2021
- Winter Wonderland at Green Meadows Park, 2020.
- Tu B’Shvat and MLK Day of Service tree planting at Elysian Park, 2020
- Arbor Day Tree Planting Event at the Banning Museum, 2020
- Earth Day Event, 2019, 2018
- Charlotte Heart Walk: Willdan employees participated in the AHA Annual Heart Walk
and fundraiser plus corporate sponsorship for multiple years, 2015 – 2017.
- Maryland Foodbank Donation: Willdan provided a no-cost upgrade to charity lighting
and refrigeration, saving the facility $400.00 per month, 2017.
- Newark, NJ YMCA Clean-Up, and Fundraising: Volunteer employees donated time and
energy to clean up residential living facilities and grounds. Employees also conducted fundraising and
economic development for local area workforce and students, 2018.
- Buffalo, NY Park Clean-Up: Volunteer employees donated time to clean up a community
park and grounds, 2018.
- Carolina Relief Report: Willdan provided support for World Central Kitchen on the
North Carolina Coast post-hurricane, 2018.
