Course Description

This one-day, eight-hour Self Aid & Buddy Aid course is designed for local, state and federal law enforcement officers. This course teaches law enforcement officers how to provide live saving care to themselves or their partner who is in the immediate area.

Performance Objectives

  • Show officers how to evaluate their particular injury and apply rapid treatment
  • Show officers how to use hemostatic agents such as QuikClot
  • Demonstrate the value of carrying lifesaving supplies on their person or in their vest
  • Demonstrate the use of various commercial bandages and tourniquets to stop moderate to severe hemorrhagic bleeding
  • Demonstrate how to make improvised tourniquets to stop moderate to severe hemorrhagic bleeding
