Course Description

The Homemade Explosive Site Exploitation (HME SE) course will provide EOD students the knowledge to conduct WTI based exploitation of a given HME lab. Due to some precursors being duel use for manufacturing HME and heroin, the course will include an awareness module on the Poppy to Heroin process. Provide information on identifying the hazards and applying appropriate safety measures associated with a given lab. Provide instruction and exercises on precursor and explosive categorization and evidence collection. This training will also encompass the tactical characterization and the technical categorization of a given lab. Provide necessary training materials to include HME IED training devices, mock lab facilities and simulators. This five-day course will be 20% classroom learning, with the remainder being 80% scenario driven practical exercises.
