Course Description

This course is designed to be the next step following general Emergency Operations Center (EOC) training courses and provides jurisdictional and section–specific EOC training and resources for personnel who are assigned to an EOC.  This course is intended for support, supervisor, management and executive personnel, who as a part of their job duties or special assignments may perform functions within an agency or jurisdiction’s EOC. This course is tailored specifically to the host’s jurisdiction, using their EOC manual, each day’s instruction is filled with jurisdiction-specific tabletop exercises.

Performance Objectives

  • Describe the SEMS and NIMS system for providing state and/or federal resources in support of local government
  • Describe the five basic responsibilities of a local government EOC
  • Describe the five EOC organizational elements (Management, Planning, Operations, Logistics, and Finance)
  • Demonstrate the role of their assigned EOC Section
  • Demonstrate the individual’s assigned position, the position role, and responsibilities
  • Describe the process for developing an EOC Action Plan
  • Identify the EOC staff which are tasked with the development of the EOC Action Plan
  • Identify the process and information requirements for resource ordering
  • Describe the methodology for accessing Mutual Aid
  • Demonstrate the development of an EOC Action Plan and Operational Period Briefing (For Days One and Three Participants)
