Course Description

A-T Solutions’ facilitators present current terrorist tactics and Underwater Hazardous Device (UHD) design, construction and deployment techniques. Teams and participants are introduced to ROV UHD searching, reconnaissance, identification, marking. Tactics techniques and procedures are emphasized for working around and under large vessel hulls, piers, and bridges. The 5-day course consists of 1 day of classroom and 4 days of practical application under realistic, field exercise scenarios.  
  • At the completion of this course Participants and Teams will have the capability for rapid response to search, identify, mark, report, and assist in mitigation of suspect and actual Underwater Hazardous Devices.  
  • Classroom theory and knowledge is applied directly to in-water ROV techniques under the most realistic conditions and scenarios possible.  
  • Exercises are designed to test individual and collective team skills required to respond to and safely conduct a Remotely Operated Vehicle Underwater Hazardous Device Search.
  • Seasoned USCG ROV Trainers and Master Training Specialists with years of practical EOD diving experience, conduct focused training and advanced technology integration.
 

Performance Objectives

  • Maritime Terrorist Threats, Tactics and Targets. Provides the participant with information to determine the potential of a maritime terrorist threat.
  • Explosives and Underwater Hazardous Devices. Provides a broad background of explosives and their adaptation to the underwater environment.
  • Underwater Ship Hull Features. Structured to provide an all-inclusive overview of the procedures necessary to ensure safety. Issues when working w/ Divers and using tag out procedures are reviewed.
  • ROV Underwater Search Techniques. Provides a comprehensive overview of proven facility and infrastructure search techniques for locating underwater hazardous devices and quickly validating UHD threats.
  • ROV Underwater Response Planning and Management. Designed to provide information theory of the resources and procedures necessary to conduct an underwater hazardous devices response.
  • Underwater Post-Blast and Evidence Collection. Designed to provide post-blast management of an underwater crime scene.
