$2.8 Billion in Energy Efficiency Funding Available Now

Local & State Agencies Must Take Immediate Action in Order to Benefit

As a part of the The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, funds have been allocated to the Department of Energy for local governments in the form of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) Program. The funds' purpose is to stimulate the economy, create jobs and reduce energy usage and greenhouse gas emissions.

Formula Funds Awarded
To date, DOE has awarded more than 1,200 Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grants, totaling over $1.4 billion: list of grants.

DOE is expected to publish in early fall 2009 a new funding opportunity announcement (FOA) for approximately $454 million of competitive grants under the EECBG program
