Willdan Homeland Solutions offers a variety of practical training courses for all aspects of disaster, unusual occurrence and emergency response. Our trainers all have over 20 years of actual experience in emergency preparedness and response at the local or state level, and are experts in the integration of local, state, and federal resources during response actions. Each of our courses can be tailored to meet individual state and local guidelines and the needs of different types of organizations such as school districts, transit agencies, or private business firms, and most have been approved for reimbursement by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

- Basic Interoperable Communications Course

The Basic Interoperable Communications course is designed to provide first responders, field supervisors, commanders, dispatchers and Communications Center personnel with fundamental information concerning interoperable communications that will enable them to have a greater understanding of the importance of interoperability, at the Federal, State and Local levels. This 4 hour course is an introductory course of instruction to participants who will play a critical role in the degree of success of their organizations interoperable communications efforts to respond appropriately when faced with a critical incident, large or small.
The Basic Course has been designed to be customized for law enforcement, fire, dispatchers, and non-public safety personnel. Each course that is offered to the specific discipline has functional elements built into the course to represent the discipline.
- Advanced Interoperable Communications Course
The Advanced Interoperable Communications Course is designed to provide first responders with the ability to utilize their knowledge and skills in all areas of interoperability to help other first responders and themselves effectively prepare for and respond to critical incidents within their Operational Area (OA) and throughout the SPA.
This 8 hour course is an advanced course of instruction to participants who need and or want to develop an advanced level of interoperable communications knowledge, skills, and abilities. This course may be delivered across all disciplines, whether law enforcement, fire, dispatch, or non-public safety.
- Interoperable Communications Instructor Course
This course is designed to prepare participants to instruct the Basic and Advanced Interoperable Communications Courses. This 16-hour course will present concepts of adult learning, coaching, and presentation skills. The primary target audience is potential instructors who have completed the basic and advanced courses.
