Overview
Lodging facilities are some of the nation’s most substantial users of energy and water resources. For example, hotels use significant amounts of energy to heat water. Willdan Energy Solutions has extensive experience in implementing comprehensive approaches to improve efficiencies in this area. Kitchen Hood Ventilation Controls (KHVC) and Hotel Room Occupancy Controls (HROC) are two additional technologies that present significant potential for energy savings.
Remodeling in the hospitality sector usually occurs on a regular basis so that facilities remain competitive. These frequent periods of rennovation present opportunities to work with this sector to develop and implement programs that promote efficient lighting and water heating, as well as KHVC and HROC technologies. Willdan Energy Solutions has helped clients in the hospitality sector save millions of kWh with a minimum of disruption to business operations.

Lodging Savers
WES subcontracted to Ecology Action to assist large hotels with Retro-Commissioning projects utilizing Energy Management Systems. These innovative devices allow a company to continuously manage energy use in every room at every hour of the day -- especially important in hotels, where lights and HVAC systems are regularly left on when visitors have left. This program was offered through Pacific Gas & Electric.
Lodging Energy Efficiency Program (LEEP)
WES manages LEEP to support lodging customers of all sizes with customized energy-saving solutions. Projects include but are not limited to, lighting, HVAC, kitchen hoods, VFDs, sensors, vending controls and retro commissioning (RCx). This program is offered through Southern California Edison and San Diego Gas and Electric.
