The Healthcare Energy Efficiency Program (HEEP) is a targeted program of Pacific Gas & Electric® (PG&E®) that offers complete audit and project identification, in addition to cash incentives for completing energy-saving retrofits of existing equipment or systems in hospitals and medical office buildings.
Energy saving retro-commissioning projects are also eligible for cash incentives through HEEP.
Customer Eligibility
HEEP serves healthcare-related facilities served by PG&E®, including:
- Acute hospitals
- Ambulatory surgery centers licensed under acute hospitals
- Acute hospital outpatient services
- Acute psychiatric hospitals
- Medical or healthcare-related office buildings (MOBs)
- Chemical Dependency Recovery Hospitals
- Skilled nursing facilities
Services
HEEP provides a full range of project development services to assist you in maximizing utility incentives through successful identification and implementation of energy savings projects. You are not required to use these services to be eligible for incentives under HEEP. You may opt to use a construction manager of your choice to assist with project development and implementation. Services include:
- Audits
- Energy conservation measures (ECMs)
- Energy efficiency calculations and ROI
- Energy benchmarking with ENERGY STAR®
- Cash incentives
How to Participate
Participation in HEEP is easy. The project management team will provide support throughout the process of identifying energy saving project opportunities, construction management, verification of savings, and securing financial incentive payments.
Eligibility and Terms
Qualifying projects must be completed and inspected before December 2012 to receive HEEP funding.
