Government and Municipalities

Willdan has been partnering with government agencies and municipalities since our very first contract in 1964 with the City of Dairy Valley (now the City of Cerritos). Willdan specializes in providing actionable energy solutions for all levels of governments including cities and towns, counties, and state commissions and authorities.

Willdan has helped dozens of city and county governments save hundreds of thousands of dollars in energy and maintenance costs by using energy savings to finance improvements, as well as finding and applying for incentives and grants. We help our government clients implement projects under energy-related legislation, maximizing value while working within their long-term capital constraints.

Our services include: engineering and technical analysis, strategic development, energy and environmental planning, project and program management, and customer relations in government management positions.

Case Studies

Representative Project: City of Eudora, KS

The City of Eudora was losing more than $100,000 in annual water revenue due to aging electro-mechanical meter infrastructure. The City worked closely with Willdan's staff, then 360 Energy Engineers, to develop and implement the replacement of all 2,300 water meters and 250 pits and setters. As the City's turnkey partner, we also upgraded street lights and building interior and exterior lighting to LED technology, with internet-based HVAC controls.

The City completed the $1.5M project without the need for any up-front capital, with annual savings of $52k and additional annual revenue of $100k, resulting in a positive cash flow form Year 1.
